The school started functioning from the forenoon of 4th June 1963 as per Directors order no N6-87394/62 dt. 14/03/1963. based on G O M 123/Edn dt 28.02.1963 in the premises of the school lab (MS Seminary H S Thazhakara) In 1986 the location of the school was shifted to the present campus which is hardly half KM away, In the vazhavady road. The institution offers a certificate course named TTC (2 Years) but later changed to Diploma In education (D.Ed) in the year 2013. The institution was permanently recognized by the NCTE in the year 2000 - 2001 as per order No. F. KL/ELE/34/SRO/NCTE/2000-2001/6458 dated 09/02/2001.
